Mermaid Awakening Powers Tier List

Water first, ice for coves, fire for night scenes — launch rankings, not damage meters.

Powers Tier List

There are three named elements in Mermaid Awakening: water, fire, and ice. There is no official DPS chart. This tier list ranks them for roleplay readability, exploration, and not getting you kicked off a Rikki’s shift. If you want the how-to, use the powers guide. This page is the argument.

S — Water

Water is the mermaid. On a Gold Coast beach with cabanas and lifeguards, a water cast is the only effect that tells a stranger “I awakened.” It photographs in daylight, it matches the H2O tags the official accounts use, and it does not look like you opened a battleground GUI.

Water stays S until the developers publish a combat mode or a unique ice-only quest. Even then it remains the teaching power.

A — Ice

Ice is the Mako power. Ruins and moonlit coves are in the group about text. Ice VFX survives dark water where a small splash disappears. If your session is Mako Island photos, ice is the one you slot.

Ice is not S because you will not cast it during jobs. It is a after-work tool.

A / B — Fire

Fire is A for clips and B for daily play. It is the contrast pick — mermaid plus flame — and it reads at night. It is also the one that looks like griefing on a crowded 20-player beach. Use it in ruins, not on the cafe ramp.

If a future patch adds PvP flags, fire probably jumps. We will not invent that patch.

C — “Secret” elements

Anything not named by the group is C / unconfirmed. Do not buy a pass because a host promised steam, lightning, or moon magic. The live store is VIP, x2 Money, and Pearl Luxury. None of them list an element.

Loadout advice

  • Main: water.
  • Island kit: water + ice.
  • Night RP: fire + ice, water still equipped.
  • Job kit: no casts. Human form. Tray closed.

Practise in shallow water after you can transform. Rankings do not help if the HUD ate your buttons — that is a launch bug, not a skill issue.

Compared with jobs and passes

Powers are free. That already puts them above most store rows on the game pass list. A player with water and a Rikki’s shift is richer than a VIP who cannot find the morph. Spend time here before you spend Robux.

When the team posts a fourth element or a skill tree, this page gets a new row. Until then, three icons, three moods, no paywall.

Roleplay loadouts that are not combat

Reveal scene on the beach. Water only. One cast. Then talk. Spamming all three elements is a firework show, not H2O.

Moon pool in a cove. Ice, then water. Fire only if the scene is a fight or a dare.

Trio swim to Mako. Each friend mains a different element so clips have contrast. If you are solo, main water and keep ice for the cave.

After a job. No powers until you have left the ramp. The jobs tier list and this list are different tools — do not mix them at the counter.

If your HUD shows more than three icons, screenshot it. That is either a patch or a bug. We will not rank mystery buttons from one server. Confirm on a second server and in launch notes before you call it a secret element.

Powers do not replace customization. A great water cast on a clipping tail still looks like a bug. Rank the closet and the elements as a pair.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best power in Mermaid Awakening?

Water, for identity and daylight roleplay. Ice wins on Mako at night. Fire is for scenes, not shifts.

Is there a power that does more damage?

No public damage stats. The game is a mermaid roleplay, not a fighter.

Can VIP unlock a better element?

No. VIP is a tag and clothing. Elements are core.

Should I main fire?

Only if your sessions are night clips on Mako. For the Gold Coast, main water.
