Mermaid Awakening Fishing and the Caught All Fish Badge

How the Gold Coast fishing loop works and why the completion badge is still rare.

Fishing Guide

Mermaid Awakening is a mermaid roleplay that quietly shipped a collector’s fishing game. The proof is a badge, not a rumour: Caught all fish! You caught all fish in Mermaid Awakening! At launch it had been awarded a few hundred times against hundreds of thousands of “You played” badges, a win rate around 0.2%. If you like completion, this is the long fight. If you only wanted a tail, you can skip it. This page is for the 0.2%. The badges board lists both live icons and the award counts.

The official screenshot for this loop is a blonde fisher in denim outside a building labelled FRESH CATCH FISH SHOP, rod in one hand, a wrapped fish in the other, mountains behind the roof. That shop is your hub. Everything else — shoreline, docks, Mako water — is a fishing hole you return from.

Why fishing exists here

The listing never uses the word “fishing” in the marketing bullets. It talks about jobs, coins, secrets, and mermaid form. The badge and the Fish Shop art are the tell. Coins from jobs feed the shop; the shop feeds the collection; the collection feeds the badge. It is a side economy that keeps people on the Gold Coast after they have already transformed.

Treat it as a species log, not a money printer. A waitress shift at Rikki’s is faster cash. Fishing is for the badge, for roleplay props, and for standing next to someone with a rod in a photo.

Session setup

  1. Stay in land form at the counter. A tail at the register is how prompts fail. Swap using become a mermaid after you buy or turn in.
  2. Open the Fish Shop. Note every named species on the board or collection UI. Screenshot it. Launch UIs change.
  3. Equip a rod if the shop sells one. The promo character already holds a rod — you should too.
  4. Fish the coast first, not Mako. You need to learn the minigame where you can still walk to Rikki’s if the bite rate is awful.
  5. Turn in or bank at Fresh Catch before you hop servers. Launch bugs include disappearing inventory.

There is no public official list of fish names. Anyone posting a 40-name table copied from Fisch or another ocean game is wrong. Trust the in-game log only. When we have a stable list from the live UI we will add it here as a table. Until then, your screenshot is the wiki.

How to not rage-quit at 0.2%

Rare completion badges usually hide behind:

  • Time-of-day or weather fish.
  • Island-only fish (which is why Mako Island is not optional for completionists).
  • Shop-gated rods.
  • One “secret” fish that is actually a quest, possibly the baby turtle hunt players clipped on TikTok — a turtle is not a fish, but launch quests often sit next to the fishing loop.

Work in blocks of 20 minutes. If nothing new logs, change water: beach, canal by Rikki’s, then Mako. Rejoin if bites freeze. Do not buy x2 Money expecting it to spawn rare fish. The pass doubles earnings, not catch tables.

Coins, passes, and fishing

x2 Money helps if the shop pays you for fish or if bait costs coins, because those are “activities and rewards.” It does not make the badge drop faster if the bottleneck is a rare species. VIP does nothing for fish. Pearl Luxury does nothing for fish. Save Robux unless you are also grinding jobs.

The like-goal coin code is a better first injection than a pass: coins for stock, not a multiplier that ignores codes.

Etiquette

Do not AFK-rod in the cafe doorway. Do not splash powers on someone lining a bite. This is a 20-player dress-up server; fishing is already the lonely loop. Give people space at the dock.

When to stop

Stop when the log is full and the badge pops. There is no extra title announced beyond Caught all fish!. After that, fishing is flavour. Go back to Mako secrets or a Rikki’s shift. Completionists who keep fishing after the badge are doing it for content, not for progression — and that is fine, as long as you know which one you are playing.

If the badge awards and the log still looks empty, that is a launch desync. Rejoin and check inventory before you grind a second “missing” shark that you already caught.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there a fishing badge in Mermaid Awakening?

Yes. Caught all fish! is a live badge. It was extremely rare at launch compared with the participation badge.

Where is the Fish Shop?

Official art shows Fresh Catch Fish Shop in a hilly coastal area. Use that building as the turn-in hub.

Does x2 Money help fishing?

It doubles earnings from activities and rewards, not catch rates. It will not spawn missing species.

Do I fish as a mermaid?

Shop at the counter in land form. You can swim holes as a mermaid if the rod still works — test both, then stick to whichever actually bites.
