Mermaid Awakening VIP Pass Explained

What 699 Robux actually buys — and what you can farm with Gold Coast coins instead.

VIP Guide

VIP is the loud pass. The store text is specific: exclusive VIP overhead tag, access to all VIP clothing/accessories, and a special colourful chat tag. Permanent. It can also be purchased with in-game currency. It does not double money, it does not open Mako, and it does not awaken the mermaid.

If you want income, look at x2 Money. If you want a princess dress, look at Pearl Luxury. If you want to be seen in a 20-player server, keep reading.

What you get

  • Overhead tag. Other players can spot you on the beach without opening a profile. Useful if you host RP at Rikki’s or lead a Mako swim.
  • VIP closet. Clothing and accessories the free rack does not have. Farm this with coins if you refuse 699 Robux.
  • Chat colour. You stand out in a busy Gold Coast chat. Voice is not supported on the listing, so chat is the whole social layer.

That is the whole product. There is no VIP island, VIP power, or VIP fish.

Coins versus Robux

The pass explicitly allows an in-game currency purchase. That makes VIP a job goal, not a paywall. Work Rikki’s or Lifeguard, skip fake “VIP scripts,” and buy the tag when the coin price is posted in the shop. If the coin price is absurd, that is the game telling you to wait for the like-goal code or to skip.

x2 Money cannot be bought with coins. VIP can. That difference is why the pass tier list does not put VIP in S.

Who should buy it

Buy (or farm) VIP if you:

  • Host scenes and want a readable nametag.
  • Care about chat colour in a dress-up RP.
  • Already have a mermaid toggle and a land uniform.

Skip VIP if you:

  • Need coins for Pearl Luxury or fishing stock.
  • Think it unlocks fire or Mako.
  • Have not finished the beginner guide.

Etiquette

A colourful tag is not a moderator badge. Do not order people off the cafe ramp. Do not sell “VIP tours.” The links hub lists official Discord staff. Impersonating them with a tag is how you get reported.

If the tag fails to appear, rejoin. Launch bugs were promised. A missing tag is not a reason to repurchase.

Pair VIP with a tail from customization. A tag on a default avatar still looks like a default avatar. Then go swim Mako — the island does not check your receipt.

Hosting with the tag

If you buy VIP to run scenes, write the rules in chat once: where the swim starts, whether powers are allowed on the beach, and whether Rikki’s is in-character. A colourful nametag without rules is just noise. The 20-player cap means one loud host can set the tone of a whole Gold Coast server — for better or worse.

Do not charge coins for “VIP entry” to a public island. Mako is free. Charging is a player scam, not a mechanic. Report it.

If you farmed VIP with coins, you still own the same tag as the Robux buyer. There is no second-class VIP. Anyone who says otherwise is mixing this store with a game that sold tiers.

Use the tag as a beacon at the Fish Shop if you are helping people with the Caught all fish log. Use it at the cabanas if you are teaching the mermaid toggle. Do not use it to skip a job line. The line is the job.

After a hotfix, tags can desync. If yours vanishes, rejoin before you repurchase. The pass is permanent. The HUD is not. Check launch notes if a whole server lost tags at once.

Yes. The official pass text says it can also be purchased with in-game currency.

Does VIP double my money?

No. That is the separate x2 Money pass, which cannot be bought with coins.
